Deogarh Mahal, UdaipurDay 3: Delhi - Udaipur (Flight)
Today morning after early breakfast transfer to airport to connect internal flight to Udaipur. Upon arrival pickup from airport and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon proceed for guided city tour of Udaipur. Set in the Girwa Valley amongst the Aravalli Hills of south Rajasthan, is a beautiful city and regarded by many as the most romantic in India. In contrast to the many neighbouring 'desert' cities Udaipur is an image of white marble palaces, deep blue lakes and attractive gardens set against a background of endless green hills. Founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559 the rulers of Udaipur prided themselves on their independence from other more powerful regional neighbours, however, this was to have a price. Due to its individuality Udaipur was almost constantly at war resulting in the city becoming one of the poorest princely states in Rajasthan. Nevertheless, the attitude of its rulers never changed and even when Udaipur, and the wider Mewar kingdom, came under British control in 1818 the city still managed to avoid almost all British cultural influence which in turn has helped it to retain its true character to this very day.
Visit the City Palace which is an impressive complex of several palaces and stands on a hill on the banks of Lake Pichola. Of interest is the attractive Mor Chowk court, the Manak Mahal or 'Ruby Palace', the Chini ki Chitra Mahal and the Queen's Palace. Continue to the Fateh Prakash Palace to visit the unique Crystal Gallery overlooking the grand Durbar Hall and walk through the old town to view the impressively carved Jagdish Mandir temple. After sightseeing take a sunset cruise on Lake Pichola to admire the serene beauty of Udaipur.

One of the prominent deity of the Maharanas of Mewar, worshiped as Mahadeva The temple of EKLINGJI was constructed roughly in between the Uda- Nath route, with the hills towering around it and abundant small springs of water where more or less every tourist takes a break.
Nagda, is the former capital of the ancient Mewar. Though initially known as Naga-hrada, present day Nagda was found in the 6th century by the Nagaditya. Here you can see the ruins of the Vishnu, Shiva, Jain temples that reflect the great architecture of the past glorious days. Of the local architectures that characterize this place the 'Sas-bahu temple' and the temple of 'Adbudji' are the most renowned. Though most of these temples in Nagda have been destroyed because of the foreign invaders the remaining parts gives every tourist an opportunity to experience the rare artistic beauty of the land.

Founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, who chose the site due to its strategic location on the fringe of the Thar Desert, Jodhpur lies on the influential Delhi-Gujarat trading route. Over the centuries it was this location which allowed the city to utilise the trade of opium, copper, silk, sandalwood, dates and coffee and provided its rulers with the opportunity to benefit from the wealth this offered. As a result it is no surprise that Jodhpur was able to consolidate its position as one of the most influential and powerful states in Rajasthan. Checkin at hotel for overnight stay.

Protected from the desert by a huge 10km wall, guarded by towers and fortified gateways the fort sprawls along the clifftop and is home to many palaces and temples.
